French Grammar Terms Explained

French lessons lean on grammar words (noun, clause, past participle, COD) that many learners never had to name in their own language, even though they use every one of them in Punjabi or Hindi every day. When a lesson uses one of these words, it links it here, and tapping it opens the short definition without leaving the lesson.

Each term has a plain definition in English, Punjabi and Hindi, the French name you will meet in textbooks and in TEF/TCF instructions, and one example with the key word highlighted. Where the idea works the same way in Punjabi or Hindi, the definition says so, because that is usually the fastest way to understand it.
