Now, and habits. vois covers both "I see" and "I am seeing" — French has no separate continuous form.
A completed past action. avoir conjugates and vu does not — ai vu.
An ongoing or habitual past. Built on the nous-present stem, so voyons gives you voyais.
About to happen. aller conjugates; voir never moves — the easier future to produce under pressure.
Will happen. Built on verr- — not the infinitive voir. The conditional reuses this stem.
What this table tells you about voir
The past participle is vu, and it takes avoir in the passé composé — so it never changes shape, whoever the subject is. No agreement to remember here.
The futur simple is built on verr-, which is not the infinitive voir. This stem has to be learned, and it is the same one the conditional uses later.
In both the present and the imparfait, je, tu, il/elle and ils/elles are one sound: vois, voit, voient — indistinguishable spoken. Only nous and vous carry an audible ending.
The imparfait is built on the nous-present stem, so once you know voyons you already know voyais, voyait and voyaient. Futur proche keeps voir untouched.
