Now, and habits. nettoie covers both "I clean" and "I am cleaning" — French has no separate continuous form.
A completed past action. avoir conjugates and nettoyé does not — ai nettoyé.
An ongoing or habitual past. Built on the nous-present stem, so nettoyons gives you nettoyais.
About to happen. aller conjugates; nettoyer never moves — the easier future to produce under pressure.
Will happen. Built on nettoier- — not the infinitive nettoyer. The conditional reuses this stem.
What this table tells you about nettoyer
The past participle is nettoyé, and it takes avoir in the passé composé — so it never changes shape, whoever the subject is. No agreement to remember here.
The futur simple is built on nettoier-, which is not the infinitive nettoyer. This stem has to be learned, and it is the same one the conditional uses later.
In both the present and the imparfait, je, tu, il/elle and ils/elles are one sound: nettoie, nettoies, nettoient — indistinguishable spoken. Only nous and vous carry an audible ending.
The imparfait is built on the nous-present stem, so once you know nettoyons you already know nettoyais, nettoyait and nettoyaient. Futur proche keeps nettoyer untouched.
