Now, and habits. meurs covers both "I die" and "I am dieing" — French has no separate continuous form.
A completed past action. être conjugates and mort does not — suis mort(e).
An ongoing or habitual past. Built on the nous-present stem, so mourons gives you mourais.
About to happen. aller conjugates; mourir never moves — the easier future to produce under pressure.
Will happen. Built on mourr- — not the infinitive mourir. The conditional reuses this stem.
What this table tells you about mourir
The past participle is mort, and it takes être in the passé composé — so it agrees with the subject: elle est morte, ils sont morts.
The futur simple is built on mourr-, which is not the infinitive mourir. This stem has to be learned, and it is the same one the conditional uses later.
In both the present and the imparfait, je, tu, il/elle and ils/elles are one sound: meurs, meurt, meurent — indistinguishable spoken. Only nous and vous carry an audible ending.
The imparfait is built on the nous-present stem, so once you know mourons you already know mourais, mourait and mouraient. Futur proche keeps mourir untouched.
