From Punjabi to French
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ 'ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਆਇਆ': ਦੌੜਨਾ ਇੱਕ ਕਿਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਉਣਾ ਦੂਜੀ। ਫ਼ਰਾਂਸੀਸੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੌੜਨ ਦਾ ਢੰਗ en courant (ਦੌੜਦਿਆਂ) ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ: elle est arrivée en courant। 'elle est venue courir' ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ 'ਉਹ ਦੌੜਨ ਆਈ'।

Traps
The futur simple doubles the r (courrai, courrons, stem courr-), and so does the conditional (je courrais).Spelling
The imparfait keeps a single r (courais, courions). On paper je courais and je courrais differ by one r, and courrai (I will run) differs from courais (I was running) by that r and the final -s, so check each one when you write.

The singular present ends -s, -s, -t (je cours, tu cours, il court), and the imperative keeps its -s: Cours !Spelling
Cours is also the noun for a class and court the adjective for short, so the sentence tells you which word it is: Je cours à mon cours de français.

Courir takes avoir even when it names a destination: elle a couru jusqu'à la gare.Helper verb
Elle est courue does not exist. The participle couru does not agree with the subject (ils ont couru, elles ont couru).

Don’t confuse withmarcher →
Courir is to run and marcher is to walk. The Punjabi verb for walking also covers going in general, but French marcher is only walking on foot at a normal pace; as soon as it gets fast, use courir.
Le matin je marche jusqu'à l'arrêt, mais je cours si le bus arrive.
ਸਵੇਰੇ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਡੇ ਤੱਕ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਜੇ ਬੱਸ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਭੱਜ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
In the morning I walk to the stop, but I run if the bus is arriving.
Don’t confuse withse dépêcher
Se dépêcher means to hurry, with no suggestion of running. Courir is the movement itself, or figuratively a life with no free minute. A late person is usually told Dépêche-toi !; Cours ! is for when they should actually run.
