French Arts, Culture and Globalization Vocabulary
Show both sides on globalization: l'ouverture and les échanges against l'uniformisation and la délocalisation. And keep multiculturalisme (federal policy) apart from interculturalisme (the Quebec model).
Your own diaspora experience is a real example: use it.
Getting Started
“La mondialisation menace-t-elle les cultures locales ?” Questions like this are standard B2 writing and speaking topics in the TEF and TCF. To answer them you need words for art, heritage, identity and migration. For a Punjabi-speaking newcomer the topic is not abstract: you are part of a diaspora yourself, and that experience makes an answer genuine.
Note: Practise the French r, the nasal vowels and silent final letters with real audio.
From Punjabi: Several of these words are ones you already use at home: ਵਿਰਸਾ is le patrimoine, ਜੜ੍ਹਾਂ is les racines, and ਪ੍ਰਵਾਸੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ is la diaspora punjabie. That is why this topic is easy to argue from your own life. What is new is the pair multiculturalisme and interculturalisme, which English and Punjabi usually blur into one.

Your Turn: Globalization, Both Sides
A TEF/TCF-style task, four sentences: La mondialisation menace-t-elle les cultures locales ? Give one advantage, one danger, and one personal example from the diaspora.
Model answer: La mondialisation a ses avantages et ses dangers. D’une part, elle favorise l’ouverture et les échanges entre les cultures. D’autre part, certains craignent l’uniformisation et la délocalisation des emplois. En tant que membre de la diaspora punjabie, je crois qu’on peut s’intégrer dans son pays d’accueil sans oublier ses racines.

FAQ
Is 'l'œuvre' masculine or feminine?
In normal use it is feminine: une œuvre, une œuvre magnifique, ses œuvres complètes. But 'le chef-d'œuvre' is masculine, because its head word is 'chef'.
What is the difference between multiculturalisme and interculturalisme?
Multiculturalisme is the name of Canada's federal policy: cultures side by side. Quebec calls its own model interculturalisme: cultures interacting, with French as the shared language. Showing that you know the difference when writing about Quebec is a mark of B2.
How should I write about globalization in a TEF or TCF essay?
Show both sides: l'ouverture and les échanges on one side, l'uniformisation and la délocalisation on the other. Then give your own example: as a member of a diaspora, you have real experience to draw on.
