12-Week CLB 5 French Study Plan for TEF Canada
Getting Started
This 12-week sprint is for Punjabi speakers who want to reach at least CLB 5 level in TEF/TCF Canada, especially in listening and speaking. The plan’s goal is to have you work a little bit, but consistently, every single day.
Note: Gurmukhi pronunciation approximations are just support. Every week, practice listening with real French audio from RFI, Radio-Canada, or other sources.
1. Daily structure: 40–60 minutes
| Block | Time | Task |
|---|---|---|
| Listening | 15 min | Listen to a short clip from RFI Français Facile or Radio-Canada |
| Lesson | 15–20 min | Read a grammar or vocabulary lesson |
| Speaking | 10–15 min | Read a script aloud, then listen to your own recording |
| Review | 5–10 min | Repeat 10 words or 3 sentences |
On weekends, add 20 minutes of extra mock drills or role-play.
2. Weeks 1–3: Foundation
Goal: sounds, core verbs, basic sentence building.
| Week | Focus | Lessons |
|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | greetings, être, avoir, articles, numbers, negation | alphabet, greetings, articles, numbers, être/avoir, ne…pas |
| Week 2 | adjectives, colours, possessives, aller/faire, prepositions, days/months | adjectives/adverbs, clothing/colours, numbers/time |
| Week 3 | daily life vocabulary | food, home, work, transport, health |

| Week 4 | routines, time expressions, futur proche | 1-minute plan for tomorrow |
| Week 5 | passé composé basics | 1-minute answer about last week |

| donc | so |
| d’abord | first |
| ensuite | next |
